Joe the minature poodle looking frumpled in the snow

Joe ~ Walks the edge of being a good dog. He is a hardy Miniature Poodle that loves a parade. He works them like a politician. Sue adopted him in 2001 when he was 4 years old. He was a quiet, solemn boy until his sister Daisy came along and taught him the joy of playing. He has dedicated the line from an Indigo Girls song to her, "The best thing you've ever done for me is to help me take my life less seriously, it's only life after all".

Daisy ~ The talking Terrier mix. Her stories are wild and adventurous and keep us laughing and shaking our heads. She is a truly special dog that has made many a big dog person become a fan of small dogs. Sue adopted her in 2001 when she was 6 months old. Her previous family had released her to a Humane Society because they were moving.

Flyer ~ She's an Italian Greyhound that looks like a salamander. She is all legs....and we are sure she has 20 of them. She cracks us up and keeps us on our toes. We adopted her in 2003 when she was 1 1/2 years old. She was in need of a home after her family split up.

Wesley ~ The bouncy 11 year old Wire Fox Terrier that we adopted last year when his former people wanted to euthanize him due to chronic health problems. He is a semi-formal, sweet, stoic, goofy friend that has a cartoon head.

ruby aka miss rubles scoobles

Ruby ~ Miss Rubles Scoobles (as she loved to be called) was a wonderful companion that joined our family at the age of 13 1/2. Because of the condition she was in when we adopted her we had anticipated a few months of hospice care. Instead we got to enjoy her sweetness for 3 years before she died April 7, 2008. She was a goofy (and sleepy!) girl that made us laugh and filled our hearts and our home.

Cayenne ~ She was the golden child who is now only with us in memory and spirit. She was our rock, our guide and the dog that made us respectable. Carmen found her as a stray in August 1990 and it was clear from the beginning that they were soul mates. Cayenne died February 1, 2005. She is missed more than words can say.
